Co-ownership, explained

What is yacht co-ownership?
Several owners hold defined interests in an ownership entity that holds a yacht. Each interest carries an agreed share of usage, costs and voting rights, administered by a professional management company.
Is YachtX a brokerage?
No. YachtX is software. Programmes, yachts and interests are published and administered by the management companies and brokers who use the platform.
How is usage allocated between owners?
Each programme defines its own policy: entitlement per interest, seasons, notice periods, peak limits and rotation. The scheduling engine enforces that policy when requests are made.
How are costs handled?
Operating budgets are allocated to interests by ownership percentage, usage, equal split or a custom rule. Capital calls, invoices, payments and owner ledgers are tracked in exact minor currency units.
